24-Hour Bowl-A-Thon

Hollywood Bowl, Friday & Saturday 24th & 25th October 2008

Organiser Danny Frank was literally bowled over with all the support given to the DLA Piper teams who lined up to complete this gruelling 24-hour challenge in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Centre.

 

“The atmosphere was electric!” said a very tired but happy Danny at the end of the marathon.  “We’re delighted with all the encouragement from other bowlers who kept cheering us on throughout the weekend and we’re  absolutely thrilled with the result of over £2,500.  People can still sponsor us through the dedicated Bowlathon site

Volunteer workers turned out in force on both days to sell raffle tickets and generally help with raffles and bucket collections, Special thanks to Cheryl Brine who stayed the full duration with the team offering support and assistance throughout the night.

This was a fantastic effort by a relatively small group of people and Yorkshire Cancer Centre offers hearty congratulations and sincere thanks to Danny and all the DLA Piper teams who gave up their weekend for a cause they all believe in.
