Our 15 Cuba Cycle participants returned safely to the UK on 23rd November following their ‘exhilarating’ experiences in Cuba. Without exception, each member of the team thoroughly enjoyed the fundraising & fitness challenge, the new friendships, the scenery - the whole ‘adventure’!
Between them an incredible £25k was raised to further enhance patient ‘home comforts’ here at the St James’s Institute of Oncology. Thank you Team Cuba 2009 on behalf of patients & staff
Here are just a few comments from some of our (now!) super-fit cyclists:
‘This was the most challenging thing I have done in my life but the people I have met & the success it has achieved is ten times more than I expected. Very, very rewarding mentally, physically and psychologically’ - Mark
‘Raising funds for a fantastic cause & completing a once in a lifetime challenge is a massive confidence-booster’ - Harriet
‘Cycle Cuba challenge was a fantastic way to meet amazing people, see a wonderful country and get fitter (and thinner!) whilst challenging myself and making a huge difference for this worthwhile charity’ - Angela
‘A really well-organised fantastic trip that was everything it said on the tin! Would definitely do something similar again as it was a perfect combination of physical challenge & seeing the world at the same time’ - Laurie
‘Thank you for the experience of a lifetime’ - Mark
On behalf of patients and staff here at YCC - well done Team Cuba and THANK YOU
