Bexley Wing Concert
Come & Sing in Bexley Wing - 28th March 2009

Over £1,000 from singing in Bexley Wing

REGARDLESS of how good or bad your singing, Helen Bye believes that it lifts the spirits and is therapeutic. Helen, a former patient, together with singing coach Angela Michel held workshops for those interested in singing which led to a fabulous concert on 28th March.

The atrium of the new Bexley Wing, home to St James’s Institute of Oncology, was the perfect setting for the concert. Songs from around the world were sung by local groups and those who attended the workshops - the ‘Bexley Wingers’.

Helen is an inspiration and is relentless in her efforts to help others feel good whilst raising funds for Yorkshire Cancer Centre.

Her concert raised a fantastic £1,020!

Another inspirational lady is Sue Walker. Sue, a teacher and an artist, lost her right arm and shoulder to cancer a year ago. Her determination and positive attitude has meant Sue has taught herself to paint with her left hand in such a short time. Sue painted two beautiful pictures of flowers on behalf of Yorkshire Cancer Centre to say thank you to both Helen and Angela for organising the concert.
